Thank you to everyone who voted for me to be re-elected as ANC for 5E04. I am honored to serve our community and the District, and am excited to work on making our neighborhood and the city better over the next two years. Onward!
DC Board of Elections has mailed out ballots to registered D.C. voters, and drop boxes for mail ballots are open! You can see instructions on how to fill out your mail ballot here. If you want to vote in person, early voting opens on October 28, see additional details about voting centers here.
And once again, thank you to everyone for your support!
Fresh from the mailbox! The Board of Elections has made a preliminary determination that I've met the qualifications to be on the ballot in the upcoming elections for the role of ANC for 5E04. I'm excited to hit the streets soon and connect with neighbors across the SMD on the issues that matter to them.
You can reach me at humaimtiaz5E04@gmail.com as well, and I'm looking forward to meeting folks soon!
I'm running for re-election!
It feels like forever ago since I decided to run for the role of Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (fact check: it was back in 2022). Since then, it has been an incredible journey. I've gotten to advocate for the things we all care about like making our streets safer, and being an effective liasion betwen residents and D.C. agencies.
The best part: I've gotten to know so many members of our neighborhood, and continue to meet new folks every day who call the District home.
I have been so grateful and honored to have this responsibility and it has been a truly rewarding experience. Being a commissioner means I get to advocate (with your support!) for the issues that will help make not just our neighborhood safer, greener, and more equitable , but will be a net benefit for the District. I am truly proud of what I've been able to achieve — with your help! — everything from getting speed bumps to a new (and much needed!) public trash can installed.
There is still a lot more work to be done, and many challenges ahead. As your Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, I am committed to continue to advocate for the issues we care about: a greener. safer neighborhood.
I'll be out campaigning in our neighborhood in the days to come and getting signatures to get on the ballot come November!
Please email me your concerns, questions and suggestions at humaimtiaz5E04@gmail.com – I would love to hear from you, and hope to see folks around soon!
